definately worth getting some high waisted ones or maybe just some in couple sizes bigger than you usually wear, i had emergency section so just had normal ones and it ws really painful as the elastic was right on the wound. cant think of any requirements other than to be aware that on first day you wont be able to get out of bed as will have a cathetar in so you'll need a nighty/shirt as you wont be able to get pj bottoms on.
good luck, hope everything goes well.x

definitely get some big ones so they don't sit right on it for the first few weeks, but having said that most trousers sit right there. if u find ur knickers or trousers are annoying ur scar then just out a sanitary pad over it and ur knickers will hold it in place. I wld strongly advise getting someone to bring ina cushion on the day u go home as the seatbelt can really rub and with every bump in the road it felt like my insides were gonna fall out lol. I used a cushion for all car journeys for first couple of weeks, was more comfortable and my belly wasn't jiggling all over the place xx

Agree with the big knickers, same with trousers etc you dont want them rubbing on the scar. Try and let the scar get as much air to it as possible.

If you are in pain you havent been given enough pain killers, dont be afraid to ask for more, most hospitals only give you a few days supply of pain relief when you leave hospital, so make appointment with doc for more.

Lactulose is fab if your scared of going to loo.

If you stomach is sore (mine was bad 1st time but real em sec and fine 2nd time with em sec) out a pillow and hold it still when you cough or laugh but if your getting enough pain relief it should be fine.

good luck

i had an emergancy section too but id packed bigger knickers anyway...just got a few packs of cheap black ones from primark..i found that the ones that are more like 'shorts' rather than knicker shape were more comfortable as they came up higher.

BIIIIIIG ones! It's so uncomfortable to have anything rub on the scar. I bought them 2 sizes bigger, as don't forget that the bump doesn't always go down right away, and there will be a little swelling, Good luck with your section!! :) (I had one a year ago) xx
