A very tentative hello & a question or two...
Hi Girls,
Hope you are all well. I had an mmc back in Feb, and got a BFP the other day. I am only 3+5 so very early on! I have a couple of questions if you don't mind...
I have been getting a few twinges and mild cramping is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I keep telling myself it's way too early to 'feel' anything, but the twinges are real. AF isn't officially late until tomorrow. Am already getting myself worked up. Keep thinking it might be ectopic.....
What is the earliest I can have a scan to check everything is ok? Do you get your doctor to refer you, or should I book in early with the MW and get her to refer me?
Sorry am freaking out a little!
Any advice would be great. Thanks so much.
Love,
Edie xxx

Hi mild cramping and stretching is normal so dont worry to much and as far as the scan goes i had one at 5 and half weeks but all you could see is the yolk sac so i went back a week later and i saw a tiny speck but more importantly a heart beat, your better off talking to your mw and raising your concerns and she will organise a early scan for you. i had 4 mc before this pg so i know how you feel, every little twinge and you worry yourself sick.
my advice is just take every day one at a time and just set yourself small goals and try to relax i know easier said than done but its better for you and bean. sending lots of baby sticky dust and i hope every thing goes well love claire xx 14weeks xx

Hi Edie, firstly congratulations hun, really hope this is a sticky 1! I was crampy around the time of my bfp and on and off afterwards, I had a mc in March and I have had a little bit of spotting so far as a result my gp referred me to have a scan, so I think it very much depends on where you live some areas its the docs some areas its mwife and some areas you dont need to be referred you can go in if you have probs. no matter what I say to reassure you I know that being anxious is to be expected but some cramping is common, also like Clairen says sometimes if scans are done very early you cant see an awful lot fingers crossed everything is fine xxx

Thanks Clairen & Littleminx.
I think I will try and get to see the MW in the next week or so, and see if she can refer me. I just want to check that everything is ok. If I can manage to get a scan around 6-7 weeks I would feel a whole bunch better.
Thanks girls.

Hi Edie,
It sounds like you have been given all the appropriate advice, everything sounds completely normal for the stage you are at. So sending you a big hug and bucket of sticky baby dust.

Hi Edie,
I was crampy and achey for a long time and was really worried, but scan last wk at 8wks said all was ok so far, so I guess its totally normal. We are all nervous little bunnies aren't we? Don't fret too much sweetie I'm sure all will be fine.
We paid for private scan at 8wks, it was really painful waiting till then and can't believe I did it but I wanted to be able to see the heartbeat more than anything.

Hi Dottie,
I'm so glad your scan went well! I think I will do the same. If the MW wont refer me for an early scan, I think hubby and I will pay to have one. I just need to know that everything is ok.
It's good to hear that other people have had the cramping pains. Guess it must be normal. Still can't help worrying though
Trying to prepare myself for work now...hate Sunday evenings...I get the fear real bad!
Have a good week!
Love,

Hi Edie,
I've had the same pains too which i had with my last pregnancy before my mmc was diagnosed so i guess it is all "normal". I'm going to the drs on thursday to ask him to refer me to the epu for an early scan, your dr should do the same if you've had problems before. Mine told me last time that they would, and the epu said they would see me next time at about 7 weeks due to previous mmc.
Hope this makes sense, have a good week too xx
