BFP but concerned

I've not been on here for a while following my mmc in March, but yesterday I tested positive on HPT.

Today, however, I've had some cramping and a little spotting. Should I be worried or is this normal? Quite concerned as really want to be pregnant again.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi chockymonster,
Nice to see you in here again! I remember you from March. It is understandable you are anxious as you really went through the mill then. But congratulations on your BFP. As you know there are no definates in pregnancy, but light spotting can be 'normal' if you have only just got a BFP. Nattynik has has spotting on and off through her pregnancy and is now nearing 12 wks and everyhting has been fine so far on scans. It can be implantation, or if you have a cervical erosion that would cause it too. Getting period type cramping is also quite normal at this stage too. I think due to your history and to help you keep sane go and speak to the doctor. If you are before 6 wks they wouldn't be able to scan but they may be able to keep a closer eye on you, do bloods (hCG) if you are very worried.
I really hope it all works out for you.

Have I missed an update chocky? You ok? I had spotting during beginning of this pg, but must have been implantation. Also had really bad af ache, but scan date after that showed all ok. xx

Sorry Mithical, I posted on the pregnancy forum and forgot that I had posted here as well.

As expected, there was nothing to see, but the Sister was really nice and offered to test my HCG levels, which came back at expected levels. So now I am booked in for another early scan on Friday. I'll be 6 weeks + 1 so hopefully there will be something to see.

Hi Chocky

Congratulations on your BFP!

I really hope everything goes well for you and this is your time.

Good luck at your scan on Friday.

I'm 12+4 and have had lots of brown discharge so far and even a fresh bleed at just over 11 weeks. I've had 6 (!) scans so far because of all this and each time everything has been fine - they suspect it's a cervical erosion. But it's still so worrying after recurrent mc's and I still worry each time it happens.

My first scan was at 6+1 and we saw our baby with a hb, so hopefully you'll be able to see this too but don't be alarmed if there's no hb yet as it can sometimes be nearer to 7 weeks before it shows.

BFP but concerned - Update

Hi all,

I just thought I would drop you a quick update.

I had another scan last Friday, which was at 6 weeks +1, the scan showed the yoke sac was in the right place but there was no heartbeat! They didn't seem too concerned by this, as it may be that it's still too early for me, depending on my dates. But that doesn't mean I'm not worried.

I'm booked in for another scan when I get back from my holiday, (writing this from a little cottage in France) on Tuesday 21st.

At this point in time, I'm quite worried because I don't seem to have any symptoms, the few I did have seem to have gone away completely.

Just wanted a bit of reassurance and to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

Hi Chocky,
It is good news that there is a yolk sac and it is in the right place. Focus on this as 6+1 can be too early to see a HB in some cases.
I know it is so hard in these first few weeks, especially when they can't just scan or put a doppler on to check things. But I have kept saying to myself 'don't panic/worry until they tell you it is over or there is a reason to worry'. I feel there is still hope as long as no-one has said it is over. Keep the faith and 'try' to stay positive. It is so easy to say, but I know how hard it is to do! Sending you lots of PMA.
I hope you enjoy your holiday.

Yes hun, I went for an early scan at 6 weeks, and there was no hb. Went back at 8 weeks and it was the first thing I saw! :-) Had a private scan at 10 weeks, all still good. Peanut moving about a little. Panicked again at 12 weeks, because it was the same room they told me bean had dies in Jan. But peanut was nice and big, and they changed my dates to 13+1.

It's such a rollercoaster! xx

Thanks girls,

It's always good to come on here and get some reassurance. I know they said not to worry, but until you here that someone has had a similar situation to yourself, you never quite believe it.

Have been feeling a bit nauseous today, never been so please to feel sick! Will let you know what happens at the next one.

Good luck chocky, i'm sure everything will be fine. My sickness disappeared yesterday and i was worried sick. Well i should have enjoyed it as today it is back and i feel awful but in a way, never been so glad to feel so ill. I know every moment is a worry but try to be positive like lilou says - its all fine until someone tells you otherwise.

Enjoy you holiday
