Boobies!!

Hey Girls

My little girl (Morgan) who is 5 weeks old ... the breastfeeding is going brilliantly , she was 9lb 3oz born and is now 12lb 2oz. I am really enjoying

BUT... the last few days i have found when she first latches on to my boob it absolutely kills for a few seconds .... shes latched on properly ??

but im not sure whether is cause maybe shes stronger and sucks really hard at first ............its only the first intital latch on....she comes off a few times (i.e after i wind her etc) but it doesnt hurt when she latches back on ............ or im thinking as shes feeding every 3 hours now in more of a routine rather than all the time when she was newborn ... that my milk is building up loadddss and hurts when she first releases it all ??

i have no idea ? just wondering if anyone else has experienced this ? or would know why....
im starting to cringe wen she needs a feed ...

thanks !!! Jo xxx

I have the exact same thing! I call it the ten second toe curler lol. I think its just from being so full and the let down is a little painful, because i always leak a little from the side i'm not feeding from as i start feeding and that hurts a little bit too! It does always make me grit my teeth, but as you say it only lasts a few seconds, and i find i'm used to it now! I also find if i take a deep breath and then blow out as she starts to suck it makes me relax which makes it easier. Hope this helps! xx

yes we got that nasty latch on pain which hits you right to the stomach. Glad my friend told me about it so i just tried to work through it. After a few more weeks it will go either you get used to it or it genuinely gets easier not sure but it is normal all the same, at least with this you do know they are on and feeding!XX
