Question about shows (also in Due in June)

Hi girls,

Posted this in the June forum but thought it would get a wider audience here...

"Now I don't want to get my hopes up, but I think I might be having a show...

After our midwife appointment yesterday and her booking to do a sweep on Monday if our lazy little boy hadn't turned up before then, Hubby and I decided last night to take matters in to our own hands as it were (I won't say too much more as it is before the watershed, LOL! )

There was nothing to report last night apart from a very sleepy hubby who lounged on the sofa for the rest of the evening saying 'my work here is done' Razz Bless him, he likes to feel useful, ha ha!

This morning I noticed a pinky colour on the tissue when I wiped, accompanied by a small stringy thread of blood and got very excited in deed. However now the initial 'wooo, something's happening' has worn off I am wondering if this is part of a show, or whether if it was I should expect to see more at this stage. Does it all come away at once or can it happen over a period of time? When reading everyone else's posts about shows it seems that they got bit bogey type globs pretty much straight away and I haven't seen any of that yet, so now I am wondering whether it is a show at all?

Sorry to ask such questions when you are likely to be eating your breakfast Frown I just really want this to be the beginning of the end.

Question about shows (also in Due in June)

I didnt wana r&r but i didnt have a show ... my waters went and almost 2 days later i had my little girl. Sounds like it could be tho - im sure your little one will soon make an appearance! I bounced on my birthing ball ALOT before i went into labour and im convinced this helped as my baby wast even engaged 5 days before i had her and this is when i started sitting on it all the time!

Question about shows (also in Due in June)

Hi. I was 2 wks overdue when I had my son. I had 4 sweeps from 10 days overdue & had what you descibed after each. Childbirth isn't textbook show, watersbreak, contractions, birth. It's different for everyone. My waters broke minutes before the birth.

My MW told me to go for a walk, go up & down stairs side-ways as may times as I could, bounce on my ball & have lots of sex!!! It's ok for them to sugest these things but putting them into practice was exhausting, especially when you can't see your feet, can only waddle & feel like a beached whale. But it worked for me, he popped out the next day.

Hope you don't have to wait much longer
Yvette x

Thank you for your replies ladies. I am still here and still very pregnant. I have been trying to keep as active as possible but like you say it is so difficult when you resemble a baby hippopotamus : )

this sounds exactly like my show with my last baby, stringy bloody mucus basically, the bad news is he hung on a further 2 weeks after that and i had the same amount of show each day until he was born, however my show arrived at 35 weeks and he was born at 37 so yours should be quicker, get hubby back to work as much as poss to encourage him. lol good luck
