Help im paniking! this will be my 3rd section!
I have been reading about woman who have 3 sections and Im scared , I have two young children who need me ! So what exactly are the risks? I have books up the loft telling me all this from my training years but I just cant remember what was said. I honestly didnt think having a 3rd section would be a problem, but my consultant wont let me have a vbac2!

Hi honey,
Tbh i dont think there is that much of an increased risk with a 3rd section, i think the main problem is scar tissue because you have had two it may take a little longer to get to baby.
Obviously every op carries risk but the best person to discuss your fears with will be your midwife and cosultant.
To put your mind at rest there is a lady on here who has had at least 6 sections and quite a few who have had 3-4 sections.
You will be fine and so will little one, enjoy it honey.
Big hugs.xxx

Help im paniking! this will be my 3rd section!
Hi SIL
Im panicking too, this will be my third section in under 3 years but ive done loads of research and apart from the few scare stories generally there doesnt seem to be a problem. Some countries dont put the '3 section limit' on at all, and they are perfectly happy carrying out 4+ sections.
regards vba2c, if you want to try you know they cant stop you. I had really thought about trying but have been diagnosed with a incompetant cervix so they say i will never be able to give birth, so i think an elective is right for me, but if you have other reasons (such as a breech baby in past) from all my research i cant see any problems. I think in 5 years vba2c will become common place, think it wasnt that long ago the mantra was 'once a section always a section.'
I will be having my section end of november so hopefully i will be able to put your mind at ease.
take care

Hi
i know how you feel. I've had 2 emergency c sections and have been told by my mw that i will have to have a section this time.
She told me that there is a risk my scar could rupture as it has only been 18 months since the last one. Has anyone else been told this?

I belong to another forum but it's a mix of american mums and just a few from europe. Anyhow, on there, there are several women who have had many more than 3 cs and have had healthy outcomes. It's called ivillage. I am not trying to promote different sites, I do really prefer this one, it's just there is a lady on there, I'll see if I can find her user name for you, she is pregnant with baby number 9, and she has had seven sections, and I believe her first four were cs, but during the last four she has had a couple vbacs. I just thought maybe it might be of some comfort to know that with excellent medical care you are in safe hands and everything thing will turn out for the best. I appreciate this is really uncommon here in the uk, but it seems in america they will let you have unlimited cs and surely with the lawsuits they have over there they wouldn't do that if would risk the doctor's insurance ( I appreciate that sounds cynical, it's not meant to be, sorry)
best wishes
xx
