Hi,
I just thought i'd introduce myself, ive only just stumbled across this site. My name is Nikki, im 23 and im a mother to two beautiful children. Freya, my precious angel was born at 21+1 in June 2008, Born too soon and is now our angel playing in the clouds. I lost Freya due to having an incompetent cervix. 5/6 weeks later we were blessed to find out we were expecting again. At 14 weeks i had a stitch placed in my cervix in the hopes that i would make it to term. That wasnt meant to be either. At 20 weeks they found my cervix to be funnelling, i was admitted to hospital on strict bedrest with the hopes (and many prayers) that i would at least make it to 24 weeks. 5 weeks later my waters broke at 24+6 and i gave birth to my little miracle Flyn, 48 hours later at 25+ weeks. Flyn weighed 911gms (just over 2lbs), and was perfect. After 13 weeks and 1 day, i am so proud to say that my little hero was discharged from NICU. It was the most trying, emotional and terrifying time of our lives, looking back now, how we got through it, im not sure. But the most important thing is that my little man is home, safe and sound, 2 weeks before his original due date. He came home on 0,03 of oxygen, which is a tiny trickle and makes no difference to us at all, we hardly notice it to be honest. His discharge weight was 6lbs 7oz and he is now porking right up to just over 8lbs. He is a wonderful baby, but i am still trying to find my feet as a mum too. Its hard but worth every single minute.
I'll stop waffling now, i look forward to chatting more, thanks for reading.
Love Nik xxx
