Homebirth books you must read!!!
Hi there
I've just read two amazing books that I would like to share with you all...
Spiritual Midwifery and Ina May's guide to Childbirth - both by Ina May Gaskin.
I'm pregs with my first baby and I really want a natural home birth. I started to feel anxious about it around 32 weeks so I went to find some literature to help me make up my mind and found those 2 amazing books. I'm now 40 weeks and I feel mentally prepared and actually really excited about giving birth now. The books contain birthing stories and also information about labour, birth and women's bodies that I had no idea about. Both are very empowering reads and I recommend them if you are thinking about having a home birth.

I'd also recommend Grantly Dick-Read's book - childbirth without fear. It was written in the 50's and isn't exactly an easy read but it completely changed my view on labour and now I'm really looking forward to it. (I also enjoyed the Ina May Gaskin books).

Thanks Sarahb, I think I'm in early stages of labour now infact! woke up this morning and had a show and now getting mild contactions. So i'm really excited! And totally relaxed cos I know I don't have to worry about going into hospital. I really hope you get the home birth you're wishing for. Good luck and enjoy the books. xx
