  • My 10-month old boy, like me, suffers from eczema and dry skin. It breaks my heart to see him scratching himself in his sleep at night until his skin bleeds. My doctor suggested steroids, but I hated the idea of using steroids on his delicate young skin and so I was delighted when a friend told me about a new skincare range for babies with eczema and very dry skin that contains extracts of natural cotton and silk. I was intrigued as I didn't know you could put extracts of these materials in a skincare range. But when I read about the new Cotton & Silk skincare range on www.skinshop.co.uk it all made sense and just like silk is smooth and cool when you wear it, when it is put into a cream it does the same thing. I ordered the whloe range for my son, which included a hair and skin wash, a moisturiser and a baby salve all with the silk and cotton ingredents in them. They had also thought of the cleverest idea of all, which was a cleanser especially for babies and children, which means you no longer have to scrub your baby's face with water or wipe it with a baby wipe, which for my son makes his skin really sensitive. I wondered why no one else had ever thought of this before, after all I'd never wash my face with soap and water or a baby wipe, so why do I keep washing my son's face in that way? Since using the new range a month ago, my son's eczema has improved enormously and he barely has an itch or any redness or dryness now at all, the salve is excellent for nappy rash too as well as any really dry sore patches of skin behind his knees and in his elbow cracks. The cleanser is an ingenious product as it means I simply have to gently wipe my baby's face clean at night with a cotton pad and all grime, suncream and dirt is removed in one wipe, with no tears from scrubbing with flannels and soap. His skin is softer now than ever before and clearer than it has even been since he was born, I am just so glad I found this solution to my son's dry skin.

  • RRP / price at purchase: £6.99 for cleanser
