  • We all love a good picnic in the sunshine but keep these foods away from your picnic basket for a safe pregnancy.

There are some foods that you should avoid during pregnancy as they can contain bacteria that could be harmful to your baby. These include:

Raw or undercooked meat or eggs

Blue-veined cheeses, such as Stilton

Mould-ripened cheeses, such as Brie or Camembert

Soft whipped ice cream, mousse or home-made mayonnaise (these may contain raw egg)

Unwashed fruit or veg

Paté

Liver

Shark, marlin and swordfish
