Safe skincare for pregnancy and baby

You’'re careful about what you eat and drink during pregnancy, but what about the chemicals you slap on your face, body and hair in the name of beauty?

Perhaps you’re wondering whether it’s safe to use fake tan or hair colourant. Maybe you are suffering pregnancy-related skin outbreaks as your hormone levels rise. Or perhaps you’re wondering how to keep stretchmarks at bay. You may even be looking for advice on caring for your newborn’s skin.

Whatever your baby or pregnancy skincare or beauty question, Janie Moore, founder of Pure Girl Organics, will be on hand to offer advice in our LIVE webchat 12-1pm on Monday March 16.

Mum-of-two Janie set up Pure Girl Organics after spending years searching for ways to cure her daughter's eczema.

She says, 'My personal research on skincare and cosmetics and the various ingredients led me to remove all conventional and chemical laden skincare, cosmetics, toiletries and household products from our home and we are all much better off for it. My daughter has not suffered with eczema for over 4 years now!

'Setting up Pure Girl Organics was a direct result of my research. I simply had to tell everyone I knew about the harmful effects of using chemical laden products and I wanted to show them that there are safer and often more affordable natural alternatives.'

Janie adds, 'The skin is the largest organ of the body and helps to eliminate toxins. It can absorb up to 60% of what we put on it so it makes sense to use natural products.

'A baby's skin is only a fith the thickness of an adult’s and therefore needs extra protection, so it is really important to use the best quality natural products you can afford right from birth.

'Sadly, I am seeing more and more children and babies in my shop who have eczema and women who have suddenly developed allergic reactions to skincare that they had used for years.

'I do believe that one day, all skincare will be natural and I will continue to do my bit and pass on the message that 'natural is always best'. '

Join us on the Live webchats messageboard, 12-1pm on Monday March 16 to put your baby or pregnancy skincare or beauty question to Janie Moore, founder of Pure Girl Organics.

We are also giving away 5  Weleda Nappy Change Creams plus 15 mini size Weleda Nappy Change Creams FREE the first 20 questions.
