HELP!!BREAST FEEDING!!

Hi everyone,
Please help me because I can't think of anything else I can try??
I have a 6 week year old baby girl and have been breast feeding from day 1.
How many feeds should she be having a day?
How long should they be lasting?
And should she be feeding from both breasts at each feed?
She feeds mostly every 2 hours, sometimes it being more frequent during the night. Once she has finished feeding it will seem she has fallen asleep but then wake up, anything up to an hour later wanting some more?? I feel I have tried everything..i try to wake her up by changing her nappy, stroking her cheek, etc but you just can't!!She won't feed unitl she wants to feed. She even purses her lips together to say she has had enough but then demands more shortly after.

I really don't want to go onto the bottle yet but feel this maybe my only choice to get her into a routine of 6 feeds a day. I've tried a bottle feed for her last evening feed at 11o'clock and she can last a little longer. She is gaining weight which is great so I'm pretty sure she is getting enough from me and i express and can see my milk supply is plenty.

Please if anyone has any advice or tips that would be much appreciated.

HELP!!BREAST FEEDING!!

my advice is to follow her lead at the moment don't worry to much at getting her in a routine as she only 6wks. she could be having a growth spurt, she will eventually settle. give her time. my lo was like that she would feed for an hour and half and had both breast at her feeds, so just give her time she will settle.

HELP!!BREAST FEEDING!!

She must empty at least one breast at each feed, otherwise she will only get the fore-milk. The hind-milk is what will keep her full-up.
