At Last New Arrival

On the 15th January I had a baby girl she weighed 6lb 5 and half ounces and is called Samantha Joyce. Labour did not go to plan as I went in on the 14th to be induced that started at 22.00 and straight away I started having stage 1 of labour contractions were happening every 5 - 10 minutes but Samantha was having problems as her heart beat kept dropping I was then moved to the Central Deliver Suite so they could keep an eye on me at 06.00 they decided they were going to break my waters but they couldn't find any membrane and whilst they were trying to find it Samantha's heart beat dropped rapidly and I ended up having oxygen and going on a drip I must admit I was scared as I was on my own I ended calling Vince to say get here quick.

I started with gas and air but was climbing the walls so they advised me to have a epidural as I was in so much pain and also I was on a drip to help speed the contractions but that didn't help and I ended up being told that I had to have a emergency c section as Samantha was not coping at all. So I was put to sleep and she was born safely at 16.43 and I eventually got to hold her at 19.00 when I eventually came round. My mum and dad were there but Vince told the midwifes that I was to be the first person to be told if I had a boy or a girl and was to be the first person to hold her so they all sat there waiting for me to come round and apparantley it felt like days not hours.
