  • Important help and advice for parents of premature babies

Having a premature baby is often a frightening and overwhelming time, but thankfully help is at hand for when you need it most.

With the support of Fairy non-bio and Pampers, Bliss, the charity for babies born too soon, too small, too sick, have created a Going Home Pack for all parents of premature babies. From July 2009 the pack will be given to all families when they leave hospital with their precious little bundle.

The pack includes helpful advice and information covering everything you need to know about looking after and caring for your new baby

Financial help is covered with action plans to take control and plan your money, as well as info on what benefits might be available for families.

The going home booklet offers practical and reassuring advice on how to cope with your baby yourself, and looks at sleeping, health, immunisations, feeding and follow-up appointments.

There's also a booklet on breastfeeding help, with hints and tips on expressing, kangaroo care, step-by-step breastfeeding advice, tube feeding and supplements.

Dads aren't left out with some essential advice and information for fathers of premature or sick babies included too.
