  • When can I give my baby painkillers?

  • I’ve heard some mums say they’ve given children’s paracetamol to their babies after they’ve had their jabs at 2 months. I thought you shouldn’t give it to children under 3 months.

Dr Rob replies: Paracetamol shouldn't be given routinely to children under 3 months, but it can be given on doctor's advice at 2 months.

After a jab, a baby may become slightly feverish and grizzly and some doctors suggest paracetamol may help prevent a fever occurring. Others suggest waiting and giving paracetamol only if a fever actually develops.

There's no right or wrong with this, so go with the approach you feel most comfortable with.
