  • Q I’m breastfeeding and it’s going really well, but how can I tell if my baby is getting enough milk?

Health visitor Dawn replies: Your baby's getting enough if she has plenty of wet nappies each day, seems content after a feed, is generally gaining weight and is awake and alert for some of the time.

Remember that babies often have growth spurts at around 10 days, 6 weeks, and 3 months.

Even though you may have a feeding routine, your baby may start to feed more frequently or for longer at these times until your milk supply increases to meet the extra demand.
