  • Can I breastfeed if I have a nipple ring?

  • Q: Will a nipple ring or boob job interfere with or affect my chances of breastfeeding?

NCT breastfeeding counsellor Julia Youll replies: A nipple ring won't stop you but I would suggest you take it out before feeding.

As for boob jobs, it depends on the surgery. If the incision was under the breast or arm, you'll probably be OK. If the incision was around the nipple, that could affect the nerves supplying the milk ducts.

It's still worth giving it a try.
